Hello!
I just wanted to send out a quick e-mail announcing that I was selected for the US National Duathlon Team that will be competing in Duathlon World Championships on Sept. 26 in Concord, NC. This is a great honor to be recognized as one of the top run/bikers in the country and to be able to go head to head with the world's best!
For those who may be scratching their heads a bit: Duathlon is an offshoot of triathlon that involves a 10k run/40k bike (draft legal in this format)/5k run. It is generally a very competitive and well-known sport in Europe and was quite popular in the US in the 90s. Europeans have historically dominated this event as they have more support for the sport in their respective countries. For more information about the World Championship race, check the website here.
Regardless, selections were competitive this year since the World Championships are being held in the US for the first time in many years. As such, the US is making a big effort to showcase this event and hopefully revitalize the sport in this country--in order to help do this, $50,000 of prize money will be offered at this highly competitive event in late September.
I will be putting my best foot forward to get on the podium against some very very fast athletes from all over the world. Expect to see the first 10k run in 30min. or under!! As this is certainly within my capabilities, also expect me to be gunning for the win and title of World Champion!!
At the same time, be sure this does not shift my focus away from my current goal of competing at the highest level in triathlon--it just means I will be running a bit more in training to prepare.

何謂鐵人兩項？
鐵人兩項是從鐵人三項衍生出來的一種新賽事，就是先一段10km路跑賽、接著一段20km單車賽、最後又是一段5km路跑賽。鐵人兩項賽事同樣受到國際鐵人三項運動聯盟的監督管理。
