Subject: New Sixfifty 606

Well first off thank you Wen for the bike. The paint job looks great. It is a real head turner. Not only for the looks but the wheel size. Most people have to take a second look to figure out that it is neither a 26" or 29" bike. You would not believe how many questions and genuine interest it has generated so far on my rides. I have to tell the truth. I have begun changing parts to see just how light I can make it. I am pretty sure that I will have it down to just above 22lbs before long. 




Back to the ride itself. What a fun bike to ride. It really is a blast to tear into corners at full speed that my 26" bike would have feared. All the hype is true. The best of both worlds.


The only drawback that I can find so far is the bottom bracket feels a little bit low. I have bottomed out the pedals a number of times  but I assume that is due to the necessity to lower the bb for the wheel size so that you are not to high in the saddle. I just have to think before I pedal in the rough or the corners. The bike eats up the small bumps and baby head rocks. It just flows so well. I don't think that I have ever had a bike that was so easy to get used to and get up to speed without any concerns. On the climbs the bigger wheel size seems to grab at the ground, finding any and all traction there is to take. Just like to mountain goat.
 


I am waiting now on a few more parts to complete my race weight build and will give you the tally on the weight when I get it together. I am planning on racing this bike over the remainder of the 2009 season. That should be a great way to stimulate some more interest and get the 606 hopping off the shelves. 


Again all in all the bike is totally a winner. KHS is on the cutting edge with this new wheel size.
